This article was brought to my attention about 1 week after our daughter had been in the NICU and I couldn't agree more with how detailed this Blogger was in describing it all. It's something you least expect to happen to your child.

Even though, (in our case), it took me a few days to realize our daughter's health was not in jeopardy for being a preemie, however because of her age, she needed to learn the skill to eat the required amount to gain the necessary weight before leaving the hospital. When it finally sunk in to my understanding of it all, I still became somewhat of an emotional basket case seeing the feeding tube up her nose down to her tummy, knowing her discomfort and wondering if she was in any pain... not to mention, all the many times her active little fingers would pull it out completely, then hearing her screams when the nurses had to reposition it back in to her everyday and throughout the day.

She's going on her 2nd full week now in the NICU and even though she's grasping the importance of eating on her own (without the tube), it still breaks my heart that we can't bring her home yet. She's reached her intake goal many times, but still is in their close watch for the time being. So soon and very soon we can bring our baby girl home! One thing for sure, I'm thankful that Tears are a language God understands!

Well, I know our Rebekah is a strong little cookie!! So, all I can say is Be encouraged, Stay encouraged and trust in God... no matter how frustrating your situation may be!  ❤

Well, I know I've not posted as much lately in Blog, but I've been pretty busy lately with the Fall Specials, the Baby Shower, getting baby's room ready and well, yes... awaiting her arrival. These 9 months have felt more like an eternity. Especially with the sleepless nights and everything else that comes with the miracle of life. Yet, in the end, I know it will all be worth it!

Here's a glimpse of my "Queen of the Jungle" Baby Shower the other evening...

        A BIG THANKS to my mom for the delicious food, wonderful setup, photo help and lovely baby shower...
and to all those who came out to celebrate too!! I had such a great time!
